There is a variety of styles for a wetsuit and you need to weigh the conditions you are swimming in as well as your comfort when selecting a style to suit your requirements. Every person has different sizes and body types so you may think that it is quite difficult to find something that fits you perfectly. But there are many shops that cater to a wide range of sizes and shapes at present.

The most important things you need to know before you select a wetsuit are your height, weight, waist and chest measurements. You have to measure around the fullest part of your chest to get the chest measurement and you measure your height from the top of the head to the bottom of your feet. Wetsuit sizing can be different from the normal clothing sizes. So you may not have the same size in a wetsuit that matches your exact dress size but this is not a cause for concern.

There are differences in the cut of the wetsuits that are designed for men and women. Women’s wetsuits are designed to accommodate curvy bodies and narrow shoulders while the men’s wetsuits are more in a rectangular shape that leaves sufficient room at the crotch. You can check the size guide in Sisstr wetsuits which are high-performance wetsuits designed with affordability in mind.

The fit of the wetsuit should be snug but it shouldn’t be too tight that it restricts your movement. If you have a full suite that has full-length sleeves, the sleeves should end at the wrist bone and the legs of the suit should stop at your ankle. There should be no loose gap at the ends which can cause water to come in collect inside making it uncomfortable to keep on. There should be no rolls of fabric when you fit on and no loose gaps at the back. While you may feel that the wetsuit that you fit on is a bit snugger than you like, they do tend to loosen up a bit more when wet. The neoprene will be able to mould to your body better when you have worn it a few times. But make sure that you are able to bend and stretch without feeling uncomfortable when you fit on the wetsuit.

There are different wetsuits for winter and summer. The thickness of the neoprene will differ; the winter suits will have more thickness to keep you warm while the latter will be thinner and stretchable allowing you more flexibility and freedom. There are wetsuits that have shorter sleeves, no sleeves, and short legs that you can find useful when you are spending time in warm waters.

There are also wetsuits that are sleeveless but have full-length legs if you are worried about your legs getting cold when they are submerged for a long time. Check for the price range in different wetsuits. A mid-range model may be a better fit when it comes to cost-effectiveness. It is best to avoid the cheapest suits as there is a question of the quality and performance.
